Many of you have been wondering about a trail map for the Hecla/Grindstone area. Please see below some trails to enjoy in the Hecla area.

Grassy Narrows Marsh Trail - over 25 km’s of Hiking/Cycling trails. Five different trails ranging from .6km to 10.2km.
Black Wolf Trail – a 19 km trail appropriate for hiking or cycling, through some of the most diverse and unspoiled areas of Hecla Island.
West Quarry Trail: 10 km return. Remnants of a blacksmith shop, log cabin, old tug, fishing camp and limestone quarry. Viewing blind, warming hut, interpretive signs about moose.
Lighthouse Trail: 3 km. Crushed stone pathway by the lighthouse. Provides excellent view of Hecla shoreline and neighbouring Black Island.
Harbour Trail: 5.5 km. Follows lake shore around North point of Island though the forest, by limestone cliffs, sunset beach and north point picnic area. Excellent view of other islands.
Lagoon fitness Trail: 2.3 km. Pathway with a series of fitness activity stations.
Hecla Village Self-Guiding Trail: Depicts the history of Hecla Island settlement, brochures available at trailhead, guided tours available. (378-2945)
