Good news for Lake Winnipeg Boaters.  Clint Unrau, a Lake Winnipeg sailor, contacted us about how he updated the  SAIL LAKE WINNIPEG:A CRUISING GUIDE by S. Whitley from hard to read photocopies into a wonderful new document.

His 2012 version has made it much easier for interested boaters to find the information they seek in a searchable document with extensive re-formatting, uploading of colour aerial harbour pictures and additional new charts. He has done a wonderful job and deserves a big thank you.

Clint has also made a commitment to keep this new document up-to-date with our help.

Thanks Clint for all your work in making this book more accessible to Lake Winnipeg boaters.

You can contact Clint at (cruisinglakewinnipeg@gmail.com) if you have any information or pictures that can be incorporated into the next addition.

Good luck to all who venture out on the lake and remember ‘Be Safe’.

The link to his 2012 Revision is below.

Recently I was shown a book entitled SAIL LAKE WINNIPEG:A CRUISING GUIDE by S. Whitley. It is a listing of harbours in the south basin with pertinent information. It goes into great detail about each harbour and includes navigational conditions, safety, weather etc. I immediately thought it could be a useful tool for our boaters. Thanks Jean-Guy for allowing us access to your book.

Please note that this book was produced in the spring of 1979 with some of the data being already at least 10 years old at that time and it may contain errors. So PLEASE read the forward in the document carefully. It is going to be a long winter so you will have time to look over the maps and pictures to see which ones interest you. Even if you aren’t a boater the information is interesting.
