Grindstone Park is getting a new sewage lagoon during the 2008 and 09 fiscal years. 

Our existing sewage lagoon does not meet environmental standards and must be upgraded.  The Provincial government has allocated $1.2 million over this 2 year period to expand our existing lagoon to meet the immediate and future needs of our cottage community.  The new lagoon will be 3-4 times larger than the old one and will have a 365 day holding period before releasing the effluent to the adjacent area.  It may take 3 or 4 years before the first discharge takes place and after that it is anticipated that there will be a yearly release during a summer month only.  Further information will be posted on the web site as it becomes available.
