Trails Committee Update

Sept. 29, 2009

The Trails Committee coordinated and ran the silent auction for Grindstone Days. The Committee would like to thank all cottagers who helped in any way. We also thank all who contributed prizes and services to the auction. The net profit after expenses was $4,860.00. These funds will be used to build a warming shack on Mile Ten. The estimated cost will be $2000.00. The building will be done by volunteers. Mile Ten was chosen as this location because it could be used as a destination and a rest spot for walkers, snowshoers, skiers, skaters, and snowmobilers. The remaining funds will be used to build some additional multi-use trails and to maintain existing trails. Final approval is still required by Parks.
