Nature needs to be part of the solution to water management. Wetlands and forests help to filter
contaminants out of the water we drink and also help to retain and
Manitoba’s polar bear population dropped sharply in just five years amid a worrying loss of adult
females and cubs, government data shows.
Canada must do a better job of protecting beluga whales and the best way to do that is to establish a
marine protected area in Hudson Bay.
Nature has been one of my greatest teachers in life, especially while writing Planted: Stories From
Manitoba’s Natural World.
A historic deal to conserve nature was reached in Montreal at the COP15 UN Conference on Biological
Diversity. Now the really hard work begins.
